ALL KENIC SHAMPOO PRODUCTS ARE FORMULATED IN A DETERGENT FREE HIGH QUALITY SHAMPOO BASE.
Cleaning preparations with detergent properties generally contain ethyl alcohol (ETOH) to bind a chemical chain to break down oils and grease. Products such as dishwash detergents, heavy duty floor cleaners, window cleaners, spot cleaners and automotive motor oils contain detergent properties. Many consumers equate the word detergent with foam or bubbles. The word DETERGENT has no relation to the amount of lather or foam.
When detergent based shampoo products are used on dogs, cats and other non-pore animals, the detergent will extract the natural oils desperately needed for a healthy coat. In addition, detergent based products will penetrate the skin and the ethy alcohol (ETOH) content may find its way to the fatty tissues and bloodstream lending the possibility of toxic reactions. Ethyl alcohol (ETOH) is a potent central nervous system depressant that may be fatal if blood concentrations reach sufficient levels. Ethyl alcohol (ETOH) may also strip the lipid layer of skin commonly called stripping, therefore compounding problems associated with healthy coat growth. It should be further noted that it is not required by law that Ethyl alcohol (ETOH) be listed on a label. KENIC PRODUCTS LISTS DETERGENT FREE ON ALL LABELS.
All Kenic shampoo products are formulated with detergent free surfactants (surface acting agents), are non-toxic and will not invade the fatty tissue or bloodstream. This holds true for the human applying the product.
